Kitchen – “San Francisco kitchen décor”

Updating traditional home furnishings can help create new, intimate spaces-within-spaces.

The open-plan kitchen of today is designed to support casual day-to-day family activities extending throughout the entire day. In this kitchen, the nearly forgotten breakfast nook is redesigned to reflect today’s contemporary lifestyle. Gone is the tight spaced hard surfaced breakfast of our memories replaced by a generous central location for active family members to gather, share meals together, and touch-base on daily life. A long, softly upholstered banquette is designed to fit around a sunny window, functioning as much as a chaise lounge, as a simple breakfast nook. Doubling as a reading corner to stretch out in during the quite moments of a hectic day, the soft pads covered in durable fabrics are cushy and can withstand the children’s play activities. An ebony wood tressle table stands in contrasts the eco-friendly bamboo floor for the ultimate contemporary look. Soft roman shades are designed to close bottom-up, allowing natural light in while maintaining privacy from the street outside.
