Living room – “San Francisco decorator home”

We work on your behalf to do the most with each room, whatever the conditions.

Sometimes our job is to make the best of unexpected and unwanted conditions that are inherited with a new residence. To the surprise of the new homeowner, this living room within a newly constructed building came with a large, unsightly heat unit within the space. We confronted this unexpected problem by transforming the unsightly heat unit into a large china cabinet by enclosing it within custom cabinetry. The china cabinet sits over the heat unit, which is hidden but still accessible by a removable metal decorative grille. The unexpected problem becomes a showstopper for the client’s antique china collection as well as adding much needed storage for entertaining.

Windows affording eye-popping views need never be closed for privacy, so a striped valance with full drapes is employed as an ornate frame arresting the view. Generous sofas are positioned to give full advantage, and help delineate a separation from the dining area, as well as offering subtle options for conversation areas when entertaining. A palette of warm, softly muted beige and rose colors is combined with the curved lines of the traditionally upholstered furniture and wood pieces to create an inviting room that accommodates both luxurious lounging on casual days and sophisticated elegance for social nights.
